Yellow mustard seeds are used commonly in the making of American yellow mustard, but can also be found in their whole form in kitchens all over the world, as they add a subtle earthy flavour to many meals.
In Hindi/Urdu, these mustard seeds are known as "Sarson", or in Punjabi as "Sarron". They're also used as a spice in North India and Nepal.
The seeds are usually roasted until they pop, but they can also be planted to grow saag(greens) which are stir-fried and eaten as a vegetables.
